French Alps GR5 Geneva to Nice

The GR5 trail begins at Lake Geneva, goes south for over 400 miles through the French Alps, ending at Menton, a small town on the Mediterranean nearby Nice. We started from Evian-les-Bains, on Lake Geneva's south shore, and hiked two weeks to the alpine village of Landry. The next summer, we returned to Landry and devoted a month to complete the walk ending with the dramatic 6,000 ft descent to the sea.
