Something about Portugal

What a great place to go walking!

Well-marked Trails, For the Most Part

Except for some gorges climbing up from the beaches and down ravines, the trails were pretty well-marked with blue-green stripes (Fisherman's trail) and/or the red-white of the Camino, which is more inland.

Wildflowers Abound

The end of April and May seems to be a nice sweet spot for this trek with temperate weather and uncrowded trails. When it's sunny though, temps warm up quickly so definitely take enough water for the day's hike.

The Rota Vicentina

The trek started from Almograve heading south, and finished at Cabo de S Vicente after a week, with mainly coastal and some inland walking through quaint villages and farmland. Our first two nights were spent at Zambujeira do Mar with a transfer to the start of the first day's walk.
