Pictured at the top is São Jorge Castle built by the Moors in the 10th century occupying a commanding hilltop over the historic center of the Portuguese city of Lisbon and Tagus River. Lisbon and neighboring Belem, were built with riches from the spice trade due to Portuguese naval prowess and global explorations. Lisbon is a city rich in history - and also rich in delicious pastries filled with custard.
