The Irish Coast to Coast Trek is approximately 370 miles from the outskirts of Dublin across the southern countryside west to the Ring of Kerry. The trek ends at Valencia Island and Portmagee on the Atlantic Ocean. Basically walk until your hat floats in the water!
The trek in its entirety is five different trails linked together, beginning with the Wicklow Way and ending with the Kerry Way. The three trails in the middle: the South Leinster Way, the Munster Way and the Blackwater Way, are lesser known and some paths make use of country roadways due to private lands.
Our plan is to focus most of our "hut-to-hut" walking on the Wicklow Way and the Kerry Way, with a break in between to check out Cork, Ireland.
